Fit-Ball - Castra Gym

Fit-Ball classes are held weekly and are suitable for all levels of fitness. Some of the exercises do require good balance, flexibility and strength so those who participate in regular activities will find it even more easy to get into.


Fit-Ball is a Yoga based exercise that incorporates isometric, flexibility and balance training. The main piece of training equipment is the Swiss Ball, which is used for support and resistance.

Fit-Ball - Yoga-Ball - Swiss Ball

The Swiss Ball allows for additional emphasis on stretching and arching, especially if a person has difficulty with flexibility. It also allows more mature and less fit people to participate with the added support.


The range of motion is ideal for women, it improves general toning while boosting suppleness and agility. Because most of the exercises are assisted by the Swiss Ball, the activity is very low impact and can be done safely by people with prior injuries or physical inabilities. It also allows more mature and less fit people to participate with the added support, our classes include members of all age groups and levels of fitness.


Fit-Ball is similar to Yoga in many ways however most people who find Yoga a little too slow paced will generally find Fit-Ball to be much more enjoyable and more active.  It is also a great exercise to incorporate into a fitness program including athletics, gymnastics and dance training.
